A corresponding author is usually the senior author who provides the intellectual input and feedback in a collaborative project. He/she designs and approves the protocols to be followed in the study, apart from handling manuscript correction, proof reading, correspondence during the paper submission, handling the revisions and re-submission of revised manuscripts until they get accepted.
